Gucci Prices by Country 2026: Where Gucci Is Cheapest
Where Gucci is cheapest right now
Across the 232 Gucci items we price, Germany and Italy are jointly cheapest — the same price in all 2 — for 146 of them (63%). Prices as of September 28, 2026.
| Country | Cheapest for | Share of catalog |
|---|---|---|
| Germany | 146 of 232 | 63% |
| Italy | 146 of 232 | 63% |
| France | 145 of 232 | 63% |
| Japan | 57 of 232 | 25% |
| United States | 22 of 232 | 9% |
Short answer: Italy and France have the lowest Gucci price tags, and they are identical to each other. Italy runs about 9% under the US, 13% under Korea and 4% under the UK. Japan sits within about 2% of Italy, which makes Tokyo the one non-European market that genuinely competes — and the best of all once a tourist tax refund is counted.
Gucci prices by country
We compared every Gucci item sold both in Italy and in each country below, converting at current exchange rates and taking the median gap. Measured October 2026 from Gucci's official country sites.
| Country | Items compared | Price tag vs Italy |
|---|---|---|
| 🇮🇹 Italy | 190 | — |
| 🇫🇷 France | 189 | the same |
| 🇩🇪 Germany | 190 | the same |
| 🇯🇵 Japan | 141 | 2% higher |
| 🇬🇧 United Kingdom | 190 | 4% higher |
| 🇺🇸 United States | 157 | 9% higher |
| 🇰🇷 South Korea | 88 | 13% higher |
France, Italy and Germany print the same euro figure on the same item, so “cheaper in Italy than France” is a myth for Gucci — pick whichever you are visiting. See the full Gucci ranking or live prices by country.
The same item, six countries
| Item | 🇮🇹 IT / 🇫🇷 FR | 🇯🇵 JP | 🇬🇧 UK | 🇺🇸 US | 🇰🇷 KR |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Paparazzo large top handle | $3,582 | $3,691 | $3,744 | $3,950 | $4,180 |
| Borsetto large boston bag | $3,246 | $3,308 | $3,387 | $3,450 | $3,695 |
| Paparazzo medium top handle | $3,246 | $3,308 | $3,387 | $3,650 | $3,583 |
One exception worth knowing: on Gucci's fine jewellery the order flips. The Horsebit 18k bangle is $4,282 in Japan and $4,300 in the US against $4,422 in Italy. Gold pieces track metal pricing more than regional markups, so the European advantage is a leather-goods and ready-to-wear rule, not a universal one.
What tax does to the ranking
The tags above are not like for like, and the adjustment changes the winner:
- Italy, France, Germany include 19-22% VAT. A non-EU visitor reclaims roughly 12-14% net after the refund operator's fee.
- Japan includes 10% consumption tax, which a tourist does not pay at all. That takes the Japanese tag below the European one.
- United Kingdom includes 20% VAT with no tourist refund since 2021 — you pay the full tag.
- United States excludes sales tax, so add your state's rate (roughly 4-9%) to the figures above.
- South Korea includes 10% VAT, partly refundable to visitors.
For a visitor who can claim, that puts Japan first at roughly 10% below the European tag, then Italy, France and Germany after refund, then the UK, then the US with tax, then Korea.
Bottom line
- Lowest sticker price: Italy, France and Germany, all identical.
- Lowest price you actually pay as a tourist: Japan, because the 10% tax comes straight off.
- Most expensive: Korea, about 13% above Italy before any refund.
- Don't travel for it: on a $3,500 bag the Italy-to-US gap is around $320 before tax — real, but smaller than the flight.
